In May 2017 Sri Lanka has faced the worst floods in its history since 2003. At least 177 people have died In addition, half a million people have been displaced, according to the authorities of Sri Lanka and nearly 2,000 houses and schools have been destroyed.

We have recently received pictures from M. Ananda Ruhunuhewa Director of the Alliance Française of Matara of one of the school where My Hands My Tools has worked a year ago in Matara area (southern Sri Lanka). School material has been distributed and life seems to slowly return to normalcy.
